Public Transportation
SEPTA, the region’s public transit system, recently received a long overdue, 150 million dollar subsidy from the state legislature. Until those funds go into effect, SEPTA will continue to perplex visitors and Philly natives alike. To ease your confusion, click below for list of all SEPTA routes and schedules, available online at www.septa.org.
Regional Transit
All SEPTA regional rail lines make stops at the city’s three major train stations.
- Market East: 8th to 11th & Market (closer to Old City and Port Authority)
- Suburban Station: 15th to 17th and JFK Boulevard (under City Hall)
- 30th Street Station: 30th & Market (closest to West Philly and University City)
Subways and Buses
Tokens for all SEPTA city lines can be purchased at major station stops.
- The Market-Frankford El (the blue line) runs from 69th & Market to 2nd & Market, and then up to the Northeast, making local stops throughout West Philly, Center City, and Northern Liberties.
- The Broad Street line runs along Broad Street, from Pattison Avenue to Fern Rock, making local stops throughout South Philly, Center City, and North Philly. It also stops at Cecil B. Moore/Temple University.
- SEPTA has many bus routes than run throughout the city. Check online for more information at www.septa.org.
- The purple Philly Phlash bus stops at popular tourist locations from the Ben Franklin Parkway through Center City and the Historic District. A full-day pass costs $4. Service runs from 10am to 8pm. Old City Phlash stops are at 3rd & Market and 3rd & Arch.

Parking
On-street parking is limited in most festival neighborhoods. There are a number of private lots around the city:
Old City
- Central Parking Systems, 501 Market St.
- Central Parking Systems, 218 Arch St.
- Bourse Garage Assoc., 400 Ranstead St.
Northern Liberties
- Patriot Parking Inc., 1201 Callowhill
- Patriot Parking Inc., 304 Race Street
- DLC Management Inc., N. 12th St. & Callowhill
University City
- Central Parking Systems, 3901 Market St.
- Plaza Parking Corp., 3801 Market St.
- DLC Management Inc., 3400 Spruce St.
Temple University
- Temple University Parking, 12th Street between Diamond and Norris (entrance on Diamond).
